Hurtado Zimmerman SC’s Day of Service Program
Hurtado Zimmerman has a deep commitment to pro bono service, acting as a steward for community activities locally and globally. Every month, every person in the firm, while on our payroll, works for the non-profit organization of their choice. These activities may include participation on non-profit Boards, undertaking fund-raising activities, teaching, sponsoring scholarships, providing legal advice for construction and real estate acquisition, and staffing ongoing administration activities and special events. We often look for opportunities for everyone in the firm to participate in our employee’s non-profit service activities – acting as a sponsor for local fund-raising events, working on a construction crew to rehabilitate housing for a women’s shelter safe house or the elderly, cleaning up a public park, planting gardens for an inner-city church, and hosting meetings for non-profit organization events at our firm.
Our group of non-profit organizations we serve changes annually. This year, Hurtado Zimmerman employees have been honored to support:
- Habitat for Humanity – Waukesha Chapter
- Mercy Housing Lakefront – SE Wisconsin
- The School of Architecture
- Multiple Sclerosis Society
- Marquette Volunteer Legal Clinic
- Betty Brinn Children’s Museum – Brinn Labs MakerSpace
- Eisenhower Center
- Love>hate Project
- Wisconsin Entertainment Lawyers Association (WELA)
